Il Bicchiere per Assenzio Pontarlier è forse il più antico e più popolare tra i bicchieri per assenzio. Sebbene esistano leggere varianti di questo bicchiere, questo stile è considerato la quintessenza del tradizionale bicchiere da assenzio Pontarlier. Fu originariamente chiamato così per il nome che gli fu dato in una pubblicità del principale produttore di assenzio dell’epoca, Pernod Fils. In questa pubblicità veniva pubblicato il giornale della città natale del marchio, Pontarlier, in Francia. Data la popolarità dell’azienda, il giornale fu inviato in tutta la Francia, il che non fece che aumentare la conoscenza di Pernod Fils e del bicchiere di Pontarlier. Realizzato nelle stesse proporzioni di un bicchiere Pontarlier originale, compreso il serbatoio. Il serbatoio è l’area utilizzata per misurare la quantità di assenzio da utilizzare per un bicchiere. Le dimensioni del serbatoio sono solitamente correlate alle dimensioni del bicchiere utilizzato. Il serbatoio misura 25 ml, che è la norma per un bicchiere da assenzio di queste dimensioni. Si tratta di un vetro stampato a macchina, quindi spesso e resistente, ideale per un uso intensivo in un bar o in un ristorante.
